This is a cool book. Moondog is guardian of the big rock floating above us and when a monkey is sent up from earth, they concoct a plan together to save the moon. Everyone loves a story where self-indulgent humans are duped by the animals who realise the greater good. 

 

Rowe's illustrations are fleshy, colourful and he makes great use of shadow. His story is extreme, unrealisic and endearing...all the elements which make a great read when a little escape from reality is what the doctor ordered.
